Drill Through Retrievable Ring Bit System

Casing size 114–219 mm

Drill through retrievable ring bit system can be used several times. This is made possible by the features on the ring bit that have been designed to reduce the friction against the soil, allowing an easy retrieval of the casing. The system allows drilling through the ring bit without changing tools. In projects where rock sockets are needed and the foundations are deep, DT retrievable system can save time by going through overburden and drilling the rock socket into bedrock using the same pilot bit.

This drilling system uses Spiral Flush, offering the ultimate in air control for safer drilling in complex ground or urban environments.

System is available for all major shank designs. Sizes 114–178 mm can be ordered with Spiral Flush Mini or conventional flushing.

Use with retrievable casing piles

Retrievable casing piles with rock sockets are used in projects where tensile loads need to be considerd but load calculations don’t take casings into account. In these situations, it is better to lift and reuse the casings. Before lifting, however, the rock socket is drilled into bedrock through the ring bit. This is done using rock bits.

...and drilled friction piles

Another situation to use the retrievable casing system is when the support from bedrock is not needed or it is not available. When the casing is lifted, the wet concrete flows into small cavities of the overburden, securing the pile with frictional forces as the concrete dries.
