Mincon teams are supporting education, community organisations and local sport through initiatives shaped by the places where they work. Recent projects across the Group show how regional teams are putting that commitment into practice, with practical contributions to schools, charities and community groups.
In Namibia, Mincon is providing school uniforms for pupils at Olof Palme Primary School. The initiative grew from a connection through Simeon Tomas, Mincon Namibia’s Head of Inventory, who grew up in the community. Two of his siblings attended the school before pursuing careers in accountancy and education. The support aims to help pupils feel part of their school community and focus on learning.
In South Africa, the I Run So They Can Walk initiative followed Steve Theunissen’s participation in the 2026 Comrades Marathon. On 6 August, the Mincon team handed over school shoes to learners from Mogobeng Primary School, Laerskool Germiston and Ramaphosa Combined School. The team plans to identify further schools as the project continues.
Mincon Australia is supporting the Kiunga Fly Warriors rugby league team in Papua New Guinea with playing kits, uniforms for coaches and staff, and supporter shirts. The ongoing initiative contributes to community sport in the area around Ok Tedi Mining Limited.
In Canada, colleagues at Mincon’s North Bay Factory joined the 2026 Smile Cookie Campaign, supporting fundraising for the North Bay and District Humane Society. Mincon Inc’s community support has included the Shamrock Shuffle 5K, sponsorship of the Herrin Tiger Sharks Swim Team and the CASA golf scramble, which raises funds for advocates working with children.
Each initiative reflects a local connection and a practical way for Mincon colleagues to contribute to their communities. Together, they form part of the Group’s commitment to creating opportunities and making a positive social impact.
