THE DRILLER'S CHOICE

Retrievable
Ring Bit System

Casing size 114–1,524 mm

Retrievable ring bit system can be used several times. This is made possible by the features on the ring bit that have been designed to reduce the friction against the soil, allowing an easy retrieval of the casing. Also, the large inner diameter of the ring bit makes this system ideal for drilling rock sockets through the ring bit.

Main applications

The system is available from 114 to 1 524 mm casings and for all major shank designs. It uses Spiral Flush technology, offering class-leading safety in overburden drilling.

Use with
retrievable casing piles

Retrievable casing piles with rock sockets are used in projects where tensile loads need to be considerd but load calculations don’t take casings into account. In these situations, it is better to lift and reuse the casings. Before lifting, however, the rock socket is drilled into bedrock through the ring bit. This is done using rock bits.

...and
drilled friction piles

Another situation to use the retrievable casing system is when the support from bedrock is not needed or it is not available. When the casing is lifted, the wet concrete flows into small cavities of the overburden, securing the pile with frictional forces as the concrete dries.
