Shannon, Ireland, 13 May 2025 – Mincon Group is pleased to announce the market launch of the MP40-MC, a new addition to its acclaimed MP-series range of high-performance DTH hammers. This new four-inch hammer combines all the innovations of Mincon’s next-generation hammer design with the proven advantages of its MC shank, resulting in a tool that delivers exceptional power, speed, and efficiency.

Engineering excellence
The MP40-MC is based on the MP-series platform, which represents the latest evolution of Mincon’s DTH hammer range. All hammers in this range are designed with modular components, while the internal layout is optimised to house a larger, heavier piston, giving significantly greater impact energy at the rock face.
The MP40-MC combines this piston-driven power with the Mincon MC shank, a proprietary design that uses a shorter, wider shank that yields several key benefits:

Real-world results
In field tests conducted by a geothermal drilling customer in Finland, the MP40-MC demonstrated its capabilities in a series of 250-metre boreholes. The same tests also recorded a 22% increase in penetration rate compared to the benchmark four-inch hammer previously used on-site, confirming the MP40-MC’s ability to drill faster while consuming less fuel.
