2014 has been a transformative year for Mincon Group. The company has been very active in product development of its standard and reverse circulation DTH hammers, and has increased its product offering through acquisitions and strategic alliances.
Mincon Rotacan: In August 2014 Mincon acquired a majority stake in the Canadian rotary bit & pipe manufacturer, Rotacan. Headquartered in North Bay, Ontario, Canada Rotacan specializes in the design, manufacture and sale of rotary blast hole drill bits, drill pipe and other ancillary products used primarily in the open pit mining industry. The acquisition of Rotacan significantly increases Mincon Groups product offering and addressable market globally.
Mincon MQ Range of Standard DTH Hammers: In May 2014 Mincon launched a new range of standard DTH hammers. Designed and tested over the prior 12 months, the Mincon MQ Range of Standard DTH hammers run industry standard drill bits without the need for a foot valve. In addition to eliminating the foot valve engineers were better able to optimize energy use giving performance increases over the comparable Mincon hammer that runs a foot valve.
Mincon MR109 addition to MR range of Reverse Circulation DTH Hammers: Introduced to the market in late 2014 the Mincon MR109 Reverse Circulation DTH hammer adds to the MR range of premium performance tools. Designed for hole sizes ranging from 4.5” (114mm) to 4.75” (121mm). The Mincon MR109 produces up to 20% performance increase over its predecessor the Mincon MX4550 hammer.
Mincon Envirosafe RDO and other Drilling Fluids: Mincon Group has formed a strategic alliance with the Canadian manufacturer of environmentally safe drilling lubricants, Control Chemical Corporation. Mincon Envirosafe RDO is now available through the Mincon distribution network along with other top quality drilling lubricants and fluids. Mincon Envirosafe RDO is a high performance environmentally safe rock drill oil suitable for use in all applications.
Mincon Group has extended its geographic reach into its key markets. The group now has manufacturing plants in Ireland, USA, Australia and Canada. In addition Mincon Group now has Sales / Service facilities strategically located around the globe as follows.
