Shannon, Ireland, 29 September 2025 – Mincon Group plc today announced the implementation of a new global service and support team dedicated to exploration drilling, reinforcing the company’s ambition to grow market share in this critical mining segment.
As demand for minerals continues to rise to meet global targets for renewable energy and sustainable mobility, exploration drilling has become more important than ever. According to the International Energy Agency, achieving a low-carbon future will require a substantial increase in mineral supply – including copper, nickel, cobalt, and rare earth elements – all of which start with effective mineral exploration.
To meet this challenge, Mincon has combined its class-leading product portfolio with a world-class support structure, ensuring customers have the tools, expertise, and on-site assistance to maximise productivity while reducing the total cost of drilling.

Mincon’s exploration drilling range is anchored by the MRXT-series reverse circulation (RC) hammers, delivering industry-leading efficiency and serviceability. Their innovative top-load sample tube design allows for faster field maintenance without the need for special breakout tools, while the internal hammer design optimises airflow for maximum performance. Every MRXT hammer is manufactured in Mincon’s state-of-the-art facilities, using precision processes and in-house heat treatment to ensure reliability and durability in the most demanding drilling conditions.
The RC hammer range is complemented by the APEX sampling system components – including the APEX blowback/blowdown unit, APEX modular swivel, and APEX deflector box – all designed to eliminate airflow restrictions, increase penetration rates, reduce fuel consumption, and improve reliability. With APEX (Advanced Performance EXploration), Mincon engineers have developed an ecosystem of components to deliver a high-performance exploration drilling sample string – faster drilling, higher sample return, and reduced fuel consumption, to lower total drilling costs.
